Insurance is required with $5mil coverage.
Intent to register with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying status) is required.
Registration by the start of your practicum placement is strongly preferred; however, we acknowledge that it may not be available to you until after your placement starts.
Confirmation of your intent to apply will be necessary prior to your start date and you will be expected to apply for registration as soon as possible.
All of our sessions are conducted online (or by phone if the client prefers).
You will need high-speed internet, a computer, a headset, and a private and professional location to conduct sessions with clients
Some experience working with the public / clients is necessary.
Experience in mental health is strongly preferred.
Unfortunately no. All efforts will be made to ensure you get the direct client contact and supervision hours to need to complete your program; however, as in any private practice setting we cannot guarantee the number of clients or hours.
There is no ‘required’ schedule. However, as in any private practice setting you will find that many clients prefer to access therapy after hours or on the weekends and therefore some availability is preferred.
No. If you are working with clients of The Sereda Psychotherapy Group, you will not have to pay for the supervision that your University requires. Any supervision services that are above and beyond the requirements of your university practicum will be subject to an additional fee, which will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
Supervision is provided by Joy Sereda, Registered Psychotherapist, who meets CRPO supervision requirements and is recognized by both the CRPO and BCACC. Joy brings extensive experience as a clinical supervisor and offers supportive, structured, and development-focused supervision to help interns build confidence and competence in their clinical work.
Yes.
Joy is accepting both student and post graduate clinical supervision / consultation clients, for both individual and dyadic sessions.
